Ghosts of news stories past
I hadn’t been in my new position as news director at a two-station radio group in Rome, Ga. for even a year when the case of Kenneth Baldwin grabbed the headlines. Baldwin had been a foster parent for the local social services office for several years when rumors began to circulate that he was sexually abusing girls assigned to his care. Official police investigations soon followed, leading Baldwin to his eventual arraignment in court before a local jurist who had the reputation of being a “hanging” style of judge.
