Social workers express sadness for Gozo child abuse

The Maltese Association of Social Workers (MASW) expressed sadness at the news about the apparent findings of the child abuse cases in Lourdes Home, Gozo, the prospect of closure facing the home and the effect this will have on the children who are living there. Deploring all cases of abuse, it added it would be only fair to acknowledge that over the years, Lourdes Home had provided care and protection to a number of children, and concrete and sustained support and respite to their families.
