Routine Practice Or Murder?

Here's a blog I haven't picked on in a while. Mostly because her posting has drastically slowed over the past few months. Today she posts an article regarding the case in New York where the worker and the supervisor had been charged with negligent homicide. Which I personally don't have a problem with them being charged with that or any other crime. It's hard not to when we know a smidgen of the criminal nature of the business.

Quite frankly, a lot more of these workers should be doing jail time, and not only for their failures to children. They should be prosecuted for their fraud, lies, perjury, falsification of documents, etc. Accountability needs to be implemented otherwise we have workers running amok. Which is the case now.

Routine Practice Or Murder?

Yesterday, this news article was posted on no less than 4 of my friends' facebook pages. The article is talking about the potential fallout for the child welfare system after a caseworker and his supervisor were indicted for negligent homicide. The charge was filed after Marchella Pierce, a child on their caseload, died from abuse after being returned home to her mother.

Now, please don't be too hard on SocialWrkr24/7. She's one of the goodie goodie ones.
