Too early to begin adopting Haitian children, would-be parents told
Children's groups in the US have asked people to wait before trying to adopt Haitian orphans, warning that mass adoptions or airlifts could break up families and open the door to "fraud, abuse and trafficking".
there are Thousands of children in this country that NEED adopting , OLDER CHILDREN , Disabeled Children , Abused Kids. IN THIS COUNTRY. RIght here in the US that need just as much love and kindness.
ReplyDeleteWhen did it become acceptable to let fad adoptions take place ? WHy do people insist on looking in other countries first.
I was an unadopted. I was hispanic in a mostly white state , I watched all my white friends be adopted while I and other minorities were kicked back to the sideline. RIght here in the US.
You are correct - many in this country need adopting as well. However, because you and others had the privledge to be born in the U.S. By birth, you were granted the right to at least have a chance at life. Many children from impoverished nations do not even have a fair shot at life. Just breathing. Please do not criticize people who feel the need to adopt ANY child and please do not pass judgement on those who feel compelled to give another human the chance to live.
ReplyDeleteI do criticize people who would rather adopt children from other countries. Do you think life as an unadopted child in the US is any different for us than it would be them ? They not only get a home , and a family and a chance at life , while the unadopted get less. I would have far rather been in another country than have lived in the cages that we were confined to.

Where was MY fair chance at life ? I was beaten , abused , raped and forced to have an abortion as a ward of the state.
Where was my child right to life ?
Where was the right to life to my roomate who died from am insulin overdose given to her by our "caretakers"?
Where was the fair shot at life for my roomates baby ? I saw a state worker slam her to the ground @ 4 months , where was that childs right to a fair shot at life.
Children raised without love , are better off in other countries ? Got your priorities backward.
How many of those "with the privilege to be born in america ", but brought up in the "System" had a fair shot ? How many live past 15 . or 25 ?
I am the only survivor or 25 people I was raised with. The others died from suicide , abuse , or from drug or alcohol abuse.
Was that a fair shot at life. They have just as much a chance to live there as here ,w e all have just as much a chance to live , to breath to take in air , but is living all there is. IS being alive really a life ? There are thousands of children right here in good old america that NEED a fair shot at life.
Adopt within your own country. If you adopt out of country you may give them a life , but for every child you choose not to adopt because they were so "privileged to be born american" not just one but at least 3 will die before they have the chance to turn 25.
The quality of ones life is much more important than its length. What is it to die a young happy child , or live for years untouched , unloved , raped an abused ?
Which one had a fair shot at life ?
If your adopting to give anyone a fair chance at life , your doing it for the wrong reason. we all have a fair chance. From the moment we are born , it does not insure a "fair" life.
Adopting out of country is for self gratifying people. If you think its not , go to a state shelter , and look over the faces of the children there. Then pick ONE , just one , of an intelligent age and tell it exactly why you choose not to take him or her . Why you would rather help some child in another country than an american child.
Could you honestly do that with a straight face ?
