Juvenile agencies speak out at loss of state support
State funding cuts, layoffs and furloughs, coupled with consolidations within the Iowa Department of Human Services, are stripping Story County Juvenile Justice Committee members of their ability to provide essential services to area youths, a panel of legislators learned Monday at a 2010 legislative kickoff session in Ames.
