I am not sure why you have labeled CASA as a bunch of system sucks. CASA gets called in for the most part when the judge becomes aware that both sides in regards to a child or children are not being truthful and the battle is about the adults, parents, extended families, case workers, foster parents, and yes even uninvited adoptive hopefuls.
CASA maybe the only person standing between your child, and heavy medication.
CASA maybe the only thing standing between you and termination of parental rights.
CASA is the only one who is looking after your child.
CASA answers to the Judge and only to the Judge.
If your child is abused in foster care CASA will get it reported and investigated to and from someone other then your local CPS.
I could go on for ever on what CASA is and the benefit's to your child and you.
You want to make brownie points with the Judge, as for a CASA.
You want reform, and your children out of stranger foster homes, and not being place in a stranger adoption work with what is offered in the way of help.
There is in deed not totally perfect organization, or champion, but there are many that can effect change.
Studies show that your child will fare better in life with out you if they have a CASA.
That being said, if you have a CASA and you don't get your child/children back, and your rights are terminated, there is a very good reason why.
