Parents Shouldn't Have to Teach the Teachers
That's the message a parent on the forum is giving a grad student who asked for information on what parents need from special-education teachers. Having described her frustration at having inexperienced therapists working with her children in early intervention, hope.rnch goes on to write:
"When the public school took over the children's case, there was even more ignorance to be resolved. No matter what the child's diagnosis, it should be the school's responsibilty to get thoroughly aquainted with it before any recommendations are spewed out in an ARD meeting!
