Foster parents denied siblings
THREE brothers, including a one-year-old baby, will be raised in separate homes with different foster parents after the couple who wanted to raise them together were dismissed as having "a sense of themselves as special people".
The distraught couple, who have had the oldest of the brothers in their care since 2002 and were desperate to take in his brothers, said their application to care for them was refused after a meeting with a NSW Department of Community Services psychologist, who was concerned that their description of themselves as being "excellent foster parents" denoted "perceptions of omnipotence and specialness".
Do these Gods, have any perspective about the Family unit, and keeping siblings together?
