The Department of Children and Families has found that it failed to ensure the safety of a 5-month-old Lake County boy who died under suspicious circumstances earlier this month.

DCF takes custody of this child because the parents were struggling financially, and then PAYS a questionable foster family to care for him? I know this sounds like a simple minded idea, but why not use that blood money to help the parents out to begin with?
Wow! That completely blew my mind. I never thought DHS would admit to being wrong.
ReplyDeleteThey do it all the time. It gives them an opportunity to claim that their workers are overwhelmed, so that they can cry for increased funding.

Because they get more federal funding when the kid is in foster care.
