Children in care 'miss out'
CHILDREN living with carers rather than at home suffered at school and socially, with one-quarter having no contact with a family member.
A State Government analysis of case files for 614 children living in out-of-home care (the majority in foster care and group homes) found that children averaged five different carers in their lifetime. But in some cases that figure was much higher.
