Lives rebuilt, a page at a time, for foster children
“These kids have had everything taken away from them,” said Barb McKay, who has had 40 foster children, including 17-year-old Clarissa, live in her Rock Island, Ill., home since the 1980s. “Many times, they show up with just a bag of clothes, or less.”
Now, child welfare professionals have figured out a way to preserve personal histories for this transient group: a ground-breaking tool called a Lifebook.
Note: What a heroic endeavor. I'm sure this will make everything all better for them.
