Girl Abused as “Tactic” in Child Custody Dispute

A Provo woman was arrested this week on charges of sexually abusing her young daughter as a tactic in a child custody dispute. The woman allegedly sexually injured the poor girl so that she could blame it on the girl’s father and thereby gain custody of the daughter. The woman allegedly reported to police that her daughter had been sexually abused by the father. However, after investigation into the matter and following a medical exam, the police found no trace of male DNA. After further investigation, and inconsistent statements by the mother, the police came to believe the woman was the actual perpetrator.
