Recognizing parental alienation syndrome

Recognizing parental alienation syndrome

The 46-year-old Denver father has seen his two daughters only a handful of times in the past five years, never without a mental health therapist in the room and rarely without a fight from the girls.

I know you post this for peoples information. I want to add a couple of thoughts for people. One of the problems I see with this is that it can be used with little to no proof. I was accused of this very thing when going through my divorce.I had left an abusive relationship and at the time had little contact with my kids. They even through huge fits when I had supervised visits. They were living with their dad at that time and wanted no part of going back to him. How was I influencing my children when I only saw them for a short while and it was all watched? Another thing is that an abuser can say that the other parent is causing this and use it to their advantage. Abusers are good at covering up and acting. While I do believe that this happens and it is a sad thing I think it is something that needs to be considered very carefully and not become a term that is thrown around loosely
