Officials 'did not listen' to girls raped by father for 35 years
It was a campaign of terror that would last 35 years, a father who repeatedly raped his daughters, making them pregnant 18 times and producing seven babies, some born with severe genetic defects.
The family moved 67 times, evading 100 professionals from 28 welfare agencies who acted under a culture of ''having a quiet word'' instead of intervening. In London yesterday, officials from Sheffield and Lincolnshire issued an apology to the family of the man, 57, saying: ''We are genuinely sorry. We should have protected you.''
yes, how did all those genetically incorrect babies go unoticed? It does not shock me, i was abused in my foster home for years, I showed all the signs of acting out but no one believed me until one of my abusers got caught and served 7 years, he never got to court for molesting his 4 year old niece who told when she was 11...or me when I was 9..BUT it was good the agency apologized, admitting their wrongdoing helps the victims alot... i was fortunate to get an apology from both of my abusers (one before he got killed)...not many are able to get an apology..
