Foster advocate wants records
When Mike Dunlavy goes to the doctor, he can't answer whether he's allergic to any medications or fill out forms about his family's medical history.
The 26-year-old doesn't even know his mother's maiden name or his ethnicity.
Dunlavy, who was in the state's foster care system from age 6 to 18, was moved around so much he doesn't know the names of the elementary schools he attended or have access to his Social Security card, school grades or birth certificate. He also doesn't know if any of his relatives tried to get him out of foster care or whether it's true that he was placed in care because of his mother's neglect.
