I will also state that I have nothing against people doing things to help kids who are abused and neglected. I do however take issue with the various ways that they bullshit the public into believing that foster care is a good option for children, such as exploiting the foster care success story where that 1 in 100 foster child grew up to be the shining example of the foster care system, then goes on to promote things like the child abuse ratline, or could even go to college and get a degree in Social Work, and ultimately a job at the local CPS office.
The child protective industry loves foster kids who turn social worker.
But anyway. Hold on to your lunch, bring your shovel, because it's getting pretty deep around here.
Victim of abuse now helping others through ChildhelpI loved the part about the deal with God during the out of body experience, btw.
Jim Pierce, a child of alcoholics, suffered a chaotic childhood. Shuttled among 15 homes, he averaged a new school every year and at times ran away, sleeping under bridges to escape the snow or searching out unlocked cars for protection at night.
