Alberta youth worker faces more child porn charges
Police have laid two more charges against a youth worker who is accused of making and distributing sexually explicit videos involving northern Alberta teens.
Jason Keough, 34, of Athabasca, Alta., was dismissed from his job as a child protection worker with Alberta Children and Youth Services after he was charged last September with making and possessing child pornography.
And yet, we are to take it on good faith that caseworkers are honest, decent people simply because they have passed a previous criminal record check? That non-verbal children, in particular, can be assured safety in the hands of those deemed fit to care for vulnerable little being? Travesty! Clearly, this depicts the very real need for accountability from which no one should be free!
ReplyDeleteAs parents of a bay kidnapped by Alberta children's services, we are well aware of the abuse of powers and the total lack of accountability of this institution. On regular basis we note abuses on our baby. Should those same abuses be found while our baby would be in our care, our baby would immediately be taken from us and we would be charged with either endangerment or abuse of some sort. Any such marks while in their care and they always come up with "it's normal" to cover their collective asses!! We are so looking forward to having our baby back and launching the largest suit (possible collective one) against this government!
ReplyDeleteYou bet they lie. To the grossest extent. Why? Why are they allowed to do this, and our children are their biggest victims. This is wrong, not only should lieing illegal it is morally wrong. Why is there NO BODY that investigates lieing CASE WORKERS as soon as the lies start? Who is their to defend the parents when the lieing starts?
ReplyDeleteThis is wrong wrong wrong, serious government curruption. I myself refer to the Actions of a caseworker at the Red Deer Office and the unbelievable extent of her gross fabrications. And her "Supervisor" defends these lies with the outmost enthusiasm.

ReplyDeleteAfter what I just witnessed with SS in Red Deer it seems to me there needs to be a complete CRIMINAL investigation of this organization. They are NOT upholding the Family Enhancement Act, they are abusing it, and innocent children are being torn from their homes and families because of it. This is not Child Protection; it is Abuse of Power.
ReplyDeleteAs an accountant is not allowed to go to work in a bank, falsify records, and take other peoples money, Caseworkes should not be allowed to falsify documents to justify taking other people's children. This is not in the Best Interests of the Child, or society.
Because of what I have just witnessed with the Red Deer SS it seems to me there needs to be a complete CRIMINAL Investigation into the lies/fabrications being used to tare children from their families. They are completely breaching the Family Enhancement Act. As someone working for the bank cannot just falsify people's financial information and take theri money, caseworkers should not be allowed to falsify people's information and take their children. Why is the Government of Alberta allowing their employees to falsify people's information and take their children?
ReplyDeleteWhy are the people of this province paying lawyers to cover fabrications for caseworkers. OH, and caseworker are not social workers. They don't have to have social work degrees ort be registered with the Social Workers Association to be a "casework" approved to take children away from their families. Who ever they are it sure seems to me what they are doing at taxpayers expense is absolutely criminal.

ReplyDeleteFoster parent here. I am also appalled at what I have been asked to do and the behaviour that I have seen out of children's svcs red deer. looking for some information on if anyone has every raised concerns to higher managament within the ministry?
ReplyDeleteI could go on and on about the Red Deer office but the truth is this system is designed to fail from the top level down. If a person is not held accountable with checks and balances in a working environment they will lie and cheat to cover up mistakes. This is after all a business and these workers do not care about emotions, feelings or their own actions, they go home at 5:00 and do not think beyound their days work, they do not know what kind of hell they have left in their wake. They certianly do not give a "rats ass" how you couldnt sleep, or that you cried every night, that you are having nightmares or that this is effecting your work and your life and the lives of everyone around you. They do not care if your child gets bounced from place to place, put in harms way or cries at night.
ReplyDeleteThey will always cover for one another and the terrifying thing is that the lawyers hide this behind their legal gargan and expect that the average person doesnt know the difference or what his/her rights are. Your side of the story will never make it to the judges ears, the only side of the story the judge gets is the social workers. This is usually a copy and past version of the truth mixed with their personal opinion that has very little facts or evidence to back it up.
I have come to the conclussion that when in a pit of snakes you have to act like a snake. Trying to act in an honorable, truthful manner only feeds their self rightious behaviour and they become entangled in their own sense of power.
There is absolutely no excuse for this kind of abuse of authority and we as Albertans and Canadians should be appaled at the lack of respect this organization has for the "Family Unit". Are we living in a communist county, have our forefathers fought for nothing, when does the Average Person get a voice because it certianly isnt being heard in Alberta by this minister or her departments.
Oh yes, I have raised my concerns with the Department. But, as was said in the previous post they support their own. The anonymous person that talks of sllepples nights and our crying children speaks the truth.
ReplyDeleteTheses people are completely out of control!!!! Children are their victims and Alberta Families are being completely destroyed. These case workers, and they are NOT SOCIAL WORKERS, social workers are accountable to a body of social workers, case workers are accountable to no one. Anyway, they are causing serious mental and emotional damages to the children they are PRETENDING to be protecting.
One of the biggest problems here is the cost of lawyers. Case Workers have endless access to taxpayers money to pay for their legal defense. The parents and family loose their child to criminal activity because they lack the money for a lawyer to appose the Department of Social Services. If the government paid for parents lawyers as they pay for the Departments lawyers there would be a lot less children being held against their wishes. Children need to be kept safe from all preditors, including power hungry case workers ensuring their own job security.
Red Deer Child Welfare needs a complete criminal investigation starting with unlawful confinement of children. Their actions are a complete breach of our childrens constitutional rights. From top to bottom each and every current Red Deer Child Welfare file should be investigated. And when parents say a case worker or social worker is lying, SOMEONE should believe the parents and review the FACTS.
And the more a person complains or asks for help from upper levels of government the less likely your children will ever be rturned home. Probably because now the caseworker really has a point to make. Don't complain to upper management because then your kids will never be allowed to come home. Ever notice how the worst social or case workers are the ones that don't have their own kids? They know all the answers to something they themselves have never done.
ReplyDeleteA person can complain until hell freezes over the Children and Alberta Families mean absolutely nothing to the Government. It is absolutely AMAZING to the tune of how many thousands of dollars professional can feed off of these innocent children. I wonder how many thousands and thousands of dollars a month just one Child Welfare Lawyer makes off of one kid, funded by the taxpayer of course. Alot of people enjoy alot of luxuries off the pain and suffering of our children.

But I need the help and support of othets who have experienced the wrath of the Department. I want to start a support group for people who are going through this as well as take our concerns to people who can help us change the system.
