Child abuse, neglect complaints rise but confirmed cases decline
The number of complaints of possible child abuse or neglect is rising in Oklahoma but the number of confirmed cases of abuse and neglect is falling.
A Department of Human Services spokesman says he believes more people are reporting possible abuse and neglect because it gets media attention.
