Judge to DCF: Teenage mom can be good parent, despite wanting abortion
A Lee County judge warned child protection officials against letting a possible abortion attempt taint their views of whether a 16-year-old could be a good mother.
"Don't take the position that we're just going to continue to assume without doing any kind of discerning as to whether or not she poses any kind of risk of doing something voluntarily criminal to the child," said Judge James Seals at a hearing to reunite the teenager and her infant son under supervision.
