Despite experiences, teens in foster care mostly optimistic
A new survey of teenagers in foster care released Thursday shows that most are optimistic about their futures and said they are treated well in the government-run system.
But the survey, for the state Department of Social and Health Services, revealed that a quarter of the nearly 700 teens who answered had run away from their foster homes in 2007.
About 30 percent also said they were expelled or suspended from school last year. And a quarter of the teens said the state had placed them in at least two foster homes last year and said they disliked being moved around.
Note: I don't know about that.
