High Court challenge over Jersey child abuse case
British ministers have been challenged in the High Court to intervene in the child abuse investigation in Jersey.
Jack Straw, the Justice Secretary, is being urged in the court papers to appoint independent prosecutors because of alleged fears that victims in the Haut de la Garenne inquiry are not coming forward because of a lack of faith in the Jersey judicial system.
Note: Can't blame them for not having faith in the court, can we?
