Girl who lied about finding baby now in protective custody after attempted assault
A 17-year-old girl who lied to police about finding a newborn in a bag near a trash bin to cover up that it was her own baby boy is in protective custody, police said today.
Police Spokesman James Tate said the girl was turned over to state Child Protective Services after her mother tried to assault her at an undisclosed hospital.
