EDITORIAL: CPS must rethink focus on keeping families intact to protect kids better
Being a case worker for Child Protective Services has to be one of the most difficult and draining jobs out there. Case workers routinely see children who are abused and neglected, sometimes in terrible ways. Their anguish and frustration must be unbearable at times, but of course society needs case workers to meet this challenge and protect as many children as possible. These threatened children also might need a new approach by Child Protective Services to the focus on keeping the families they serve intact.
