In the Spotlight: Foster children deserve adequate psychiatric care
Note: They act as if doping these kids up on psych meds is a privilege.
Foster children who are removed from their family of origin, placed in a relative’s or stranger’s home with limited to supervised visitation with parents once a week, and monitored by social workers, therapists, and court personnel, already pay the price for their parents’ mistakes. All aspects of removing a child and placing him or her in foster care are traumatic. Why should these children continue to pay for a situation they had no control over by being forced to wait for the care they so desperately need?
