For three decades, Liz Everman has told us about foster children who need to be adopted. Today, you'll meet a young man who asked to be removed from his unsafe family, and he believes things are looking up.
And check this out...
Wednesday's Child: 11-Year-Old Gary
Gary is a sweet, polite 11-year-old African American boy who describes himself as athletic.
And I'm sure he's a good kid, but you gotta do something cool with them when utilizing this type of marketing strategy. So a reporter meets them for a game of mini-golf or football or something so that they're happy and bubbly in front of the camera. And of course they only show the happy bubbly kid on TV. They don't tell you about the RAD, or the Special Needs, or the developmental disabilities. They don't bother to mention that these kids are damaged, unless of course it's blatantly obvious when they have to advertise for a family who is equipped to deal with severely disabled children. But that's beside the point.
