My niece has become addicted to Meth, and has decided instead of cleaning up and raising her three year old daughter whom we all have had a hand in raising, she would rather sign her over to complete strangers. She is not offering her to us because in her state of mind, she sees us as evil people, out to hurt her. DCS got her daughter six months ago when she was busted with Meth. They placed her daughter in foster care, so my brother registered as a foster parent and was ready to take the baby home until my niece was released and cleaned up. DCS decided the case would be closed much easier if they just let the strangers adopt her instead of keeping her in the system as a foster child of my brothers. Even after my brother was willing to adopt her as well. My niece refused, due to the drugged state she was in. DCS didn't care if my niece was unfit to make that decision, they didn't care that the baby knew everyone in the family and was bonded to all of us. They just looked for the fastest way to close the case, even if it was jerking her out of a loving family and placing her with strangers at a meth addicted mothers request.
