MIRACLE GIRL'S MOM: CITY WANTS TO GRAB MY KIDS
As miracle girl Destiny Antonio recovered from a seven-story plunge from a Bronx apartment window, relatives yesterday circled their wagons to prevent the city from removing six other kids from the household.
The Administration for Children's Services "is trying to say that it's my fault," said distraught mother Robin Antonio, 48. "They should be looking at the Housing Authority and their negligence."

Mom of girl in window fall talks to EWN
Last week, 8-year-old Destiny Antonio fell out of her bedroom window in the Bronx. She plunged seven stories and somehow survived. She remains in the hospital.
I live in NYC. It is a city of highrises and yes, landlords including and most especially NYC as a landlord in this case are mandated ny local law to provide window guards.
ReplyDeleteIt is amazing that ACS sought court orders for this family after, at least from the news article, the family did allow ACS into their home.
ACS can indeed take the children from this family on the basis of an accident.
I pray that this family, in addition to hiring a personal injury atty -which apparently they have done- also look to the Bronx Defenders, a local non-profit group, to assist them in the civil ACS case.
Thanks, LK, for posting this.
CPS agents are like vultures circling a dead carcass. If your child gets a bruise, God help you cos CPS will be all over you in a heartbeat. They're morons with a cause...more money!
