Social worker struck off for inaction

Social worker struck off for inaction

A senior social worker has been struck off the professional register for putting children at risk by failing to allocate 90 cases for investigation.

  1. At last a Social Worker has been made accountable for shoddy practice and has been struck off the Social Care Register.

Joy Cole’s had ignored warnings by the NSPCC, Police and schools, by leaving vulnerable Children at risk for months and she had falsified documentation in Case Files.

Luckily this malpractice has not lead to the tragic death of a child, which could have become another statistic of Local Authority failing.
This comes two weeks after the Leicester Mercury editorial, about young girls, some as young as 13, were found to be involving themselves in Street prostitution. They were supposed to be in Local Authority Care in a near by Children's Home, again another debacle of Social Services failings.

I applaud Councillor Vi Dempster, who is fully undertaking the Clause of Corporate Parent seriously, when she admits and deeply regrets the conduct of the former employee.

With the opening up of the Family Courts, from the middle of April, Social Workers, will be put under Public Scrutiny, to abide by the Public and Private Law Guidelines, or face the consequences.
