Grandparents who bring up their children's children could be wrongly targeted in a campaign against unofficial foster parents, charities warned yesterday.
It seems like the Local Authorities would rather use Foster carers, costing millions of pounds of the taxpayers money. Foster Carers receive up to £500 per week per child. The New Public Law Guidelines that came into practice on 1st April 2008, state that before a child is removed and placed into Care, the Kincareship clause should be used,by placing children with Grandparents or a immediate member of the family.
