Secretary of State Mike Pompeo has blocked the inclusion of Saudi Arabia on a U.S. list of countries that recruit child soldiers, dismissing his experts’ findings that a Saudi-led coalition has been using under-age fighters in Yemen’s civil war, according to four people familiar with the matter.

In yet another case of forcing minor Muslim girls into wedlock with Arab nationals in Kerala, a 17-year-old girl has approached Child Welfare Committee alleging that the orphanage authorities, where she had been staying, forced her to marry a man from Saudi Arabia.

The Court of Cassation in Makkah Region recently upheld the decision of the District Court in Jeddah sentencing an Arab woman to 80 lashes for falsely accusing her former husband, whom she had divorced, of sexually abusing his three-year-old daughter.
