My three minutes in court, what a crappy experience

There are some very good reasons why foster parents don't have more say in the fate of our children. Lots of them want to adopt, the parents still have rights, they will alienate the children, they will thwart reunification efforts.

And although they don't have all the say that they would like, nobody said they had to be happy about it.

My three minutes in court, what a crappy experience

CD has been with our family for about six and a half months now. In our state, at the six month mark, the System is required to create a "Concurrent Plan," which could best be described as a Plan B. While the goal is to reunify a child in foster care with their biological parent(s), at the six month mark they are required to create a plan in the event that this does not happen.

I am sorry for your experience, however it is not so different for the many INNOCENT biological parents of these children. Loving, honest parents who have been FALSELY accused. The Family Court system is for all intents and purposes mostly corrupt. Imagine if you will that CD was your biological child and you were treated this way? Just some food for thought. I praise what the good Foster parents do for the truly abused/abandoned children, but this system needs to change and NOW! I will pray for you & CD, every child deserves to be unconditionally loved and cared for.
