Calif court issues stay in adoption custody battle
An appeals court issued an order that temporarily allows a California woman to keep a young girl she has been trying to adopt, rather than return the toddler to Ohio, court officials said Wednesday.
Toddler Vanessa to stay in California, court rules
My opinion and two announcements:
ReplyDeleteWhat really baffles me about this story and many others like this is all the publicity they get. First of all, not knowing either of these people or the facts, the adoptive mother may very well be the best placement for this little girl. I don't know and not my decision. Maybe the father has changed. His mother apparently has the other children. Wonder why she didn't file for custody for this one, or did she, or was this a private voluntary adoption outside of DFCS?
Was DFCS involved? If so, then the money factor comes into play.
Getting back to what I was saying about media attention, we need media attention! It's time for those of us who have unjustly lost our children and grandchildren to the state through foster/adoption, to take a stand! Right now our elected officials are focusing on one thing and that's the upcoming election. Now is the perfect time to make our stand! Anyone who is ready to peacefully demand:
1. Return of our children
2. Reform of the government Departments of Children's and Families Services
3. Judicial accountability from all involved.
Please come by my blog.
Over the next couple of days I will be bringing some things to your attention that you may or may not know yet that could be used as evidence of this injustice.
Pray for those who have lost their children in state custody to death.
I realize that we are all grieving the loss of our children after losing parental rights or through death. I am also incorporating grief work for parental child loss in my blog. Having a child loss grief support group for 9 years and some public speaking behind me as a parent who lost a child, I have experience in this area. Hopefully I can help and we can help each other.
I will be working on this for the next couple of days. If interested, please come by the site for info!

This was a private adoption between the biological mother and the adoptive mother.
ReplyDeleteAnd the adoptive mom may very well be the best placement. However, the fathers rights would have to be terminated first, therefore he would have to be given all of the same services and chances as anybody else.
That has not happened.
