CAS shaken by 'horrific' abuse
The repeated sexual abuse of an 11-year-old girl at the hands of her foster parent is the most "horrific" case of abuse the Sudbury-Manitoulin Children's Aid Society has dealt with, its executive director says.
Douglas Klasges, 65, was sentenced to seven years in prison for abusing the girl in his care. He pleaded guilty to one charge of sexual exploitation Monday and was sentenced Wednesday.
