ADAM WALSH ACT UNDER CONSTITUTIONAL SCRUTINY
In July 2006 former President George W. Bush signed into law the Adam Walsh Child Protection and Safety Act (“Walsh Act”). Title I of the Walsh Act, the Sex Offender Registration and Notification Act (“SORNA”), received the most media attention because it expanded the National Sex Offender Registry and established sanctions up to a maximum of twenty years for sex offenders who do not comply with the law’s registration requirements.
Well to answer your question whats are child's life worth.....everyone I am sure will answer anything and everything.
ReplyDeleteBut let me ask you a similar question ....what are our children's lives and our children's children live going to be worth if we continue to allow such unjust, unconstitutional laws such as this Adam Walsh Act to stand. What kind of lives will they have if we have no constitutional right left to protect us.
We have all seen how our government continues to expand its influence over us in our every day lives....
Its started out simple and continued to grow day by day...first they took the right to discipline our children from us under the pretences that is was because of child abuse that it needed to be passed. Next came the car seat under the same pretences...then came the seat belt under the need to protect society....them it was smoking...and this list can go on and on.
It seems to me that these are all basic rights that we all have the right to decide for ourselves, we don't need the government becoming such a big part of every ones day to day life...we all have common sense, we all now how to make decision on things that effect our every days lives and our families.
Now they have taken this infringements of every day life and focused them on a segment of the population in a attempt to further they influence over society....and how did they accomplish this...by the hysteria that they have been able to project around sex offenders....they have based this whole concept on misguided, misrepresented statistics...on the recidivism rate of sex offenders...and under pretences that a sex offender can't control there urges. They have gotten the general public so scared and afraid for their children's safety that the people have developed a hatred for them all...people don't care to distinguish between a true pedophile or just a couple of teens caught in a car...They have manipulated the press into a feeding frenzy over this all because sex sells...it sells their papers it boosts advertising......and they make money
They passed this law and since passing all these laws the sex offender registry has grown by leaps and bounds...it now includes such horrific criminals such as streakers, mooners...johns that hired a prostitute..teenage loves...drunks relieving them self in public...parents who took picture of there children in the tub who took the film into be developed....oh and one of my favorites mothers breast feeding there babies in public ...i could go on and on but you get the point...
And as a result of this all they have been able to chip away at a lot more of our constitution under the pretences of public safety....well I for one don't need to be protected from these horrendous criminal if it means loosing more of my constitutional right nor do my children...another 20 years our children will have even less rights then we have now if we don't stop this.
NOW THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH LAWS TO PROTECT OUR CHILDREN...what is wrong is at what expense this protection comes with...This Adam Walsh Act needs to be repealed...and the congress and Senate need to sit down and constructively write these laws that are fair and balanced and not a infringement on our rights and I say your rights because once they deny one segment of society these rights they will deny us all.
These laws were passed under the presumption that they were to protect us from the worst of the worst is how they put it back in the early 90's to lesson the resistance to these laws back them..and since they have grown like a monster in and of itself...they created a monster to control monsters...but there is one very terrible side effect to this all it takes people who are no danger to society and destroys there lives that they have rebuilt because of a one time error that occurred maybe 15..20 or even 30 years ago....it chipping our constitution and is doing as harm to our children as it does good
