Child and family services agency head fired
The executive director of a northern Manitoba child and family services agency was fired yesterday -- the day the government released a review of the agency's operations.
The report on the Cree Nation Child and Family Caring Agency confirmed details that trickled out during last spring's legislative session, including allegations of nepotism, unexplained payments to the Swampy Cree Tribal Council, the purchase of a van for the executive director in lieu of three years worth of raises, and an expensive staff retreat to Niagara Falls.
