Bill requires release of abuse cases

Legislation that backers say would improve the safety of Wisconsin's most vulnerable children by requiring child welfare agencies and their officials to be held more publicly accountable for incidents of mistreatment and death was introduced Wednesday in both the state Senate and Assembly.

The state's proposed outside review of Oregon's foster care system will not be helpful. Reviews, including mandatory federal reviews, have been done. They all told us that we have the same problems every other state has. There is nothing new here to know.

Note: See! They already know that they're a bunch of fuck-ups.

DCF Changing Culture

DCF Changing Culture

Despite recent critical reports, Department of Children and Families Secretary George Sheldon said this week that he is convinced the beleaguered agency is beginning to change a long-engrained culture.

A recently-completed internal report raises questions as to whether the agency has the right kind of employees who are willing to use common sense to avoid ongoing mistakes, such as one that came to light with the suicide of a 7-year-old child in South Florida. These mistakes wind up costing taxpayers millions of dollars because the state ends up settling lawsuits that accuse the agency of negligence.

So-called "shaken baby syndrome" is another area where it increasingly appears that flawed forensic testimony helped secure numerous false convictions over the years, particularly among parents and child care workers: According to an essay by Maurice Possley at The Crime Report:

NY state appellate court rules that children can't be taken from parents just because house is messy

The Appellate Division of the New York State Supreme Court, First Division, ruled yesterday that child protective services cannot take children from their parents solely on the basis of a messy or cluttered house. In the Matter of Iyanah D., the court overturned a New York City Family Court ruling by Judge Jody Adams that had determined the children had been neglected.

Is this where the stolen babies are ending up?

This is an "orphanage" in the Ukraine, but it's also posing as a hospital. Its website states that the children are kept in quarentine for a month when they arrive - it sure sounds a lot like the old Pindown routine to me!

I strongly suspect that this is where our state stolen forced adoption children are ending up.
