Gov. Jennifer Granholm's plan to slash nearly $14 million from services that help prevent child abuse will lead to more crimes against children and the loss of millions in federal matching grants for the prevention of child abuse, the Michigan Association of Chiefs of Police and child advocacy groups said Wednesday.

In dog years, Doug and Harriet Thompson are not yet 12.
But in human years, they’re 70 and 69, respectively, and that where the problem – and this story – begins.
When the Independence couple recently tried to adopt a young poodle from a dog rescue group near Lebanon, Ohio, they were rejected – but were told they perhaps could get a dog 6 to 10 years old.
Note: Two animal stories today. I don't usually post these but my God people. They're starting to treat dogs like foster children. That is animal abuse.
