Dozens rally for foster care reform

“Little child, dry your crying eyes…” a passionate guitarist emotionally strummed his rendition of White Lion’s “When the Children Cry.” The lyrics take their toll on his audience, which is full of folks rallying for foster care reform in Montana.

“I wish I had a relationship with my daughter. I miss my son so much. It’s not right what they did to my family. It’s not right that I have to live without remaining family members,” said Kirk Eakin, a father who believes his children were unjustly taken out of his custody.

Helena rally decries family separation by Children and Family Services

Around two dozen people gathered outside the state Capitol Thursday morning to decry the separation of families by Montana's Children and Family Services Division.

The "Our Kids Cry Too" rally was organized by the Montana Child Protection Alliance, a nonprofit organization dedicated to raising awareness of children's rights in Montana and advocating for due process.

As many as 15,000 supporters rallied at protests held in eight cities around the globe on Saturday to continue putting pressure on the Norwegian government to release five Romanian Pentecostal children who were removed from their parents based on abuse allegations.

Austria: Hundreds decry Norway's 'theft' of children in Vienna

Thousands of people protested outside the Norwegian embassy in the Austrian capital of Vienna, Saturday, urging Norwegian authorities to return the children who are said to have been "stolen" by the Norwegian Child Welfare Service (Barnevernet). The protesters, including people from Romania, Czech Republic, and Russia carried pictures of the children while singing religious songs.

Thousands of Romanian Pentecostal Evangelicals peacefully protested Norwegian embassies in five national capitals, including Washington D.C. on Friday, calling on the Norwegian government to free five children who were removed from their parents by child services last year after a teacher complained about the family's Christian faith.

It’s an  international day of protest in Canada, the U.S., Mexico and the United Kingdom.At City Hall Saturday, the hacker group ‘Anonymous Calgary’ organized a rally demanding action against chronic abuse of children that plague child protective services.Anonymous Calgary said they are speaking out on behalf of thousands of silent and anonymous children  seized each year by provincial authorities.“These kids don’t have a voice without us.” Story continues below

Two Hong Kong teenagers may be taken from their families for participating in pro-democracy protests that overtook the city for more than two months. At court hearings later this month, judges will decide whether to approve requests by police to remove a 14-year-old girl and a 14-year-old boy, detained separately, from their parents’ custody.

Parents express concerns about the child Welfare system in NYC. Nicole Lopez is a parent dealing with Edwin Gould foster care agency since 2007. The agency according to the The adoption and family safe act law is suppose to reunify parents with their children. Ms Lopez states that Edwin Agency fail to provide her with the supportive servies that she needed.Ms Lopez has two children that she has not seen in two years because her visits were terminated by the judge and agency.
