Few children in foster care ever return home Very few children who are taken into foster care by child welfare services ever return to their own homes. A new study by the National Institute for Health and Welfare (THL) found that just over 10% are returned to live with their parents, and of those almost a third end up in foster care again. Note: Perhaps the social wreckers should focus more on helping the parents rather than destroying families. Helping parents is cheaper and better for the kid in the long run.
