Leslie Boyd Hayden needed help getting out of chair at the defendant's table in Multnomah County Circuit Court. Tall, lean and almost courtly-looking with wavy, silver hair, the 71-year-old waited patiently while his attorney reached over to adjust a set of headphones to help him hear.
