Advocates urge legislators to empower guardians as 'Nubia's legacy'
George Riggs came to the Capitol Wednesday to push the panic button on Florida’s foster care system.
Note: It's a common scenario that plays out over and over again. Every time a child dies from abuse or neglect and it hits the newspapers like a firestorm, the system sucks scream out that more needs to be done to protect children. Never mind the fact that cases like this are extremely rare.
It seems to me that this kid was protected to death. IOW, they had their chance. They blew it. They are calling for more power when they blew it. More power would only give them more opportunities to screw up more kids.
