New charter to make foster children 'part of the family'

Children in foster care will not need special permission to have a haircut or go to a sleepover, under guidance published today.

It is a pity that the Right Honorable Gentleman will not also concentrate his efforts on ensuring that Local Authority's use the kincare clause outlined in the Public Law Guidelines, they have a mandatory duty to consider placing children with an immediate family member like Grandparents, before ever using foster care, but as usual Social Workers disregard this option,which would save millions of pounds at the tax payers expense, and would also prevent far less emotional trauma to the child.
