Dead boy's parents sue
The parents of a three-year-old Edmonton boy who died at the hands of his foster mother have launched a $400,000 lawsuit against the convicted killer and the province.
In a statement of claim filed Jan. 22, the parents - who cannot be named to protect the identity of the child - allege the director of Child Welfare was the boy's legal guardian and therefore responsible for his proper care.
Note: Why do they need to protect the identity of a dead child? Confidentiality laws protect the agencies, not the children.

As you commented... I am in absolute agreement! WHY do we allow the purportrators of crime to be afforded the freedom of protection!?! This is an issue that has been on my personal agenda for some time: The child who has died cannot be harmed further, but we can celebrate his life and IDENTITY! He has already been failed and now we must make amends to promote better Policy and Protection through Amendment and discussing - and taking responsiblity - for the the wrongs committed so that these do not repeat! To refrain from openly regarding his life, we are further negating his worth as a human being! FOIP is a four letter word!
