An outside consultant hired by the Maine Department of Corrections to review suicide prevention practices at the Long Creek Youth Development Center in South Portland has found several deficiencies in the wake of a trangender teen resident’s suicide last year.

Changes have been made at three group homes in Haverhill struggling with runaway residents that are sapping police resources.

NFI-Massachusetts, the nonprofit organization contracted by the state to operate the homes on 230 Liberty St. and 4 and 31 S. Kimball St., has put in place what it calls enhanced case management strategies for residents most prone to running away.

Homosexual and transgender issues are playing out in faith-based child placement agencies across America, and Alabama is no exception.

Alabama recently became one of the latest states to enact a “freedom of conscience” law that allows faith-based foster care agencies to restrict child placement based on the provider’s religious beliefs. Similar laws have been passed in Texas, South Dakota, North Dakota, Virginia and Michigan, while legislation is being considered elsewhere as well.

A dear friend of mine just shared an example with me of how a local business can partner with some child abuse agency and trade some advertising for some fund raising while claiming to take the moral high ground by giving money to CPS and Friends!

ST. CLAIR SHORES, Mich. - A foster mom is due in court Wednesday for sentencing for abusing a 1-year-old girl in her care in St. Clair Shores.

CHILD abuse survivors at a Bridge of Weir home say the scale of attacks is comparable to a “house of horror” where eight people have been prosecuted for 145 criminal offences.

A lawyer for victims at the facility in Bridge of Weir, Renfrewshire, drew similarities with the notorious Haut de la Garenne children’s home in Jersey.

A federal judge ruled against a Department of Child Services case manager who illegally searched an Indianapolis veterinarian’s apartment after receiving a report of suspected child abuse or neglect. The case manager now must face a damages trial in the vet’s civil suit against her.

DCS case manager Nola Hunt conducted a warrantless search of an apartment attached to Beth Breitweiser’s Indianapolis practice, All Things Wild Exotic Animal Hospital near Broad Ripple. She and her two children were living temporarily in an apartment in the basement of the office while the family’s home was being renovated.

Crime Stoppers of South Sound is asking for help in locating a missing 15-year-old from Lacey.

Marydru Elizabeth Kays, 15, left the Brentwood Group Home in Lacey on June 9 and has not returned, according to the Lacey Police Department. Kays told staff at Brentwood she was going to Vancouver, Washington, where she planned to stay with her boyfriend, Braeden Jensen, 19. The two may be staying at an apartment in the Vancouver area and Kays may be using the last name Jensen.

LK Announcement

To the readers of Legally Kidnapped.

Recent changes to available free automation options that are beyond my control have made posting links to my various social media sources time consuming and monotonous.  For example, dlvr.it which I once used to post automatically to LinkedIn, Google + and the Legally Kidnapped Facebook Page has limited the number of daily posts allowed unless I pay for the full service.  This has made that particular service useless to me and does not help with my ability to keep you all informed of the fraud and corruption in child welfare.  Because I really don't make any money off of this I can not justify spending money on it.  I now have to post manually to all three of these sources.   

I have therefore been considering different ways of doing things.  Today I have settled on this.  I will do one post per day with multiple links to multiple news stories, videos, whatever.   I will no longer post all the headlines to Facebook or any other social media source.  Instead you will get one post per day with everything.  In order to see all the current headlines, you will have to click on the link and go to the blog.

I apologize for any inconvenience.  This will save me hours of work every week.  You will live.

Foster father sentenced to 10 years RI for sexually abusing minor daughter

A lower court today sentenced a foster father to undergo 10-year RI for sexually assaulting his 7-year-old daughter.Adjudicating a case occurred three years back Balasore Additional District judge Ajanta Sarangi awarded the accused 10 years RI and fine of Rs 5,000 today.According to prosecution, Jaga Hembram of Govindpur village under Khaira Police Station on April 28 , 2014 took his 7 year daughter to nearby Palasa forest and sexually assaulted her. The girl narrated her ordeals to her mother after she returned home. Jaga was arrested after his wife lodged a complainant with the police.

Couple charged with abuse after toddler foster child found malnourished

Garren Dodd McDonald, 48, and Shelley Lanette McDonald, 43, were arrested June 28, the Etowah County Sheriff's Office announced Monday. The Collinsville couple is charged with one count each of child abuse.
