Looking at Each State's CPS offices

Looking at Each State's CPS offices

Have you ever just googled Child Protective Services? What kind of cases would you see? Two particular stories caught my eye. They discuss who holds CPS agencies accountable. Truthfully how are they held accountable? When social workers for the state are caught making bad decisions involving human lives, many times their unions cover their butts and get their jobs back. Is a union good for human service organizations? If the proof is undisputable, a union is not good for a human social service organization. However, what about private industry working for a governmental organization? Are they covered as well? I do not believe that they fall under the same category.

Va. Woman Pleads Guilty in Adopted Daughter's Death

Va. Woman Pleads Guilty in Adopted Daughter's Death

A Prince William County woman pleaded guilty this morning to leaving her adopted 13-year-old daughter for dead in a frigid creek in January -- as well as to abusing the girl and lying to police -- in a case that has highlighted shortcomings in the county's policies on child abuse and runaways.

Child Protective Services violates saftey rules

This was taken during a supervised visit at the CPS office. My grandson fell from the slide onto bare concrete. These people are so busy kidnapping our children they fail to follow any safety regulations, even the recommended guidelines that come with the assembly instructions. The CASA ( retired police officer ) turned instant cop when he realized I had captured the fall with my camera. As you will hear, he became very interested in the functions of my camera "because he has one like it and didn't realize it has video clip functions". These criminals operate by making parents feel shame and isolation. This is a form of brainwashing used by cults. The more isolated a person feels the less they will reach out for help. It is time for every victim of the CPS to come together and demand change. I share our story with people on a daily basis and they in turn have opened up and shared their stories once there is a feeling of safety in doing so. AA started with 2 people. Look at it now. Let's come together and make the change happen. No More Victims!

Child welfare, witches and blood

Child welfare, witches and blood

Moral outrage accompanied by calls from the federal Opposition for a government inqury is yet another example of what is a depressingly familiar ritual to those of us who have worked in the field of children's services.

It goes like this: child found dead or horrifically abused; media reports it with a mixture of indignation and incredulity; opposition pollie seizes the opportunity to intensify the indignation and accuse relevant minister of incompetence and neglect; relevant minister responds with own indignation and calls government inquiry; inquiry hears evidence for months, finds systemic failure and incompetence, and makes numerous shallow recommendations; relevant minister pledges radical change and shouts at a few high-level bureaucrats; dust finally settles and everything goes back to normal.

What happens to foster kids when they turn 18?

What happens to foster kids when they turn 18?

A couple of years ago, i read that when foster children turn 18 they have no where to go. It didn't matter if they were still in school or working or whatever, at 18 they had to leave the foster home. I've thought on this for a long time and wonder what happens to these young adults? Is there any place they can go and live and find the support they need to finish their education and get a good strong foundation for their life? I'm sure many of them do finish their education and go on with their life. I guess I'm really just interested in learning more about foster children and possibly becoming a foster parent in the near future. I even have ideas of one day opening a home for unwanted foster children and possibly providing a home environment so they can continue their education without the extra hardships. Drop me a line if you have any info you feel might be useful. Thanks.
