A Farrell teenager who fled from his Clintonville foster home and was returned there has once again fled, Franklin state police said.

Police search for 3 missing foster children


The Warren County Sheriff's Office is searching for three missing foster children. Through investigations, police determined that Amber Smith, 17, Jasmine Davis, 15, and Jasmine's baby Mya Davis, 1, ran away from their home at 212 Countrywood Place on foot.

Judge orders Texas CPS chief to appear in court over runaway

AUSTIN, Texas (AP) — A judge has ordered the leader of Texas’ Child Protective Services to appear in court to explain why the agency can’t keep a 14-year-old girl from repeatedly running away from foster care.

The Austin American-Statesman reports state District Judge Paul Rotenberry directed Department of Family and Protective Services Commissioner Hank Whitman, who runs CPS, to appear in Rotenberry’s Abilene courtroom Wednesday. The still-missing teen has run away from foster care five times since April.

Group home runaway problem continues

Calls for police to help find runaways from group homes in the city continue at a high rate, keeping officers from other duties in the city, police said.

Three group homes in Haverhill called police 62 times for assistance with runaway residents from April 1 to May 3, a rate of almost two calls per day, according to statistics provided by police.

Group of juveniles walk away from group home; one jumps in river to evade police

Three juveniles who fled from what authorities described as a group home and halfway house in Beaver County were taken into custody Wednesday by Duquesne Police. Their apprehension followed an alleged chase down a hillside and along the edge of the Monongehela River wherein one of the juveniles jumped into the river in an attempt to escape.

Four girls who apparently ran away from a facility for foster children near Tampa were found safe as they tried to sneak back onto the same property, authorities said Friday.

Missing Plantation Teen Found, Escapes DCF Custody: Police

A South Florida teen whose father was arrested after the teen went missing in December was found in Vero Beach but escaped after he was placed in the custody of the Department of Children and Families, police said.
