Children's services no better in Tennessee than in Kentucky
The past few months have certainly been rough on the public-relations flacks down at Kentucky’s Cabinet for Health and Family Services (CHFS). In March of last year, the CHFS Deputy Secretary, Steve Nunn, was forced to resign after his arrest on assault and domestic violence charges. Five months later, Nunn—who was in charge of the domestic violence prevention program at CHFS—pleaded guilty to the domestic violence assault charge and was ordered by the Fayette County District Court to participate in a diversion program. A month after that, he was arrested and charged with the murder of his former fiancĂ©e, 29-year-old Amanda Ross, who was found shot to death in the parking lot of her townhouse on West Short Street, near Rupp Arena.
