Shumlin decried the negative comments made about DCF workers, particularly since the death of two toddlers last year who were under the supervision of DCF. He said disparaging remarks made about state workers had reached new highs and has impacted employees.
“There’s been an awful lot of hateful comments in the media as well as on the blogs directed at the work that these folks are doing and I think we have to remember that hateful language breeds, fertilizes, hateful acts, and we all have to work together to appreciate the work that these hardworking state employees are doing with these vulnerable kids,” he said.
