Questions asked after foster carer acquitted of child abuse becomes father through surrogacy
A high profile foster carer acquitted of sexually abusing eight children under his care has now fathered 2 children via an Indian surrogate. Thomas Easling was charged with a string of offences and cleared in 2007 in a widely reported trial that gripped much of Australia. The case demonstrates a dilemma in the way our criminal and civil laws deal with child protection.
