Experts call for smacking children to be made illegal amid fears over future mental health risks

  1. A child should never be smacked in the face, but a spanking doesn't hurt, or a tap on the head. There is a difference between discipline and beating a child. For instance a mother or grandma smacks a child's hands to teach not to touch brakeables in the house. Good discipline. You don't beat a child to teach them. When a child does something to possibley put themselves in danger, a mother may spank her child so it doesn't do it again. I am a product of a abusive father, but I grew up knowing he was wrong. My father was explosive beater, I knew it was wrong. I have never beat any of my children. I've spanked them, tapped them on the head, and smacked hands. Non abusive, my kids have turned out fine, there not suffering from post traumatic stress syndrome, and neither am I. Regardless of what are parents do, we learn wrong from right. Ppl just need to stand up be men and women, stop blaming everyone else or on some mental health issue, and be a parent. Pity party train left decades ago. Seems like animals have a better idea of parenting, than humans. They seem to be able to teach there young, with a spat on the head, small bite, what they ddeemed best for the punishment. You don't see them beating there young.....
